CRAB + CHEESE RANGOON

There is something amazingly therapeutic when wrapping these rangoons; maybe because each one looks like a tiny present. Not only are they superrrr easy to assemble, they're delicious in each bite! The recipe is a basic foundation - you can change it up however you'd like.

​INGREDIENTS

  • 1 packet imitation crab

  • 2 block cream cheese

  • Fresh dill

  • Sriracha to taste *or hot sauce of your preference

  • salt to taste

  • sugar to taste

  • Wonton wrappers

  • Water (to seal each rangoon)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Soften the cream cheese for easy mixing.
     

  2. Roughly chop imitation crab.
    *Don't chop it up too finely, you'd want to bite into a chunk of crab!
     

  3. In a large bowl, toss in chopped crab + cream cheese. Add in your fresh dill and seasonings.
    *Mix well + adjust seasoning to your preference.
     

  4. For each wonton wrapper, wet the perimeter with water and scoop in 1/2 tsp of filling.
     

  5. Take opposite sides of the wrapper and pinch together + do the same for the other side.
    *Essentially making all 4 corners meet in the centre.
     

  6. Securely close all edges of the wrapper by pinching the sides together.
     

  7. In a pot, heat up neutral oil. When your oil reaches about 375°F, toss in a few rangoons until golden brown.
    *Should only take 1-2 minutes.
     

  8. Serve with sweet chilli sauce + enjoy!
    *These freeze beautifully, so feel free to make a big batch for future meals!
